GoFBO

Part 91AI Trip Builder

Text the request. GoFBO builds the trip.

"Bill and Joe want to go to the next Bears game." Forward that text or email to GoFBO, or paste it in. GoFBO looks up the game, picks the airport, works out when to land and when to leave, adds any fuel stop, asks what it can't know, and puts a Requested trip on the dashboard for a scheduler to finish.

Watch it work

One text. Here's everything GoFBO works out.

A scheduler texts eleven words to GoFBO. Each card below is a decision a person would otherwise make by hand, with the answer GoFBO came back with.

One sentence in. A whole trip out.

“Bill and Joe want to go to the next Bears game.”

  1. Reads the request

"Bill and Joe" is two passengers. "The next Bears game" is an event it has to look up.

2 passengers · event: the next Bears game
  2. Finds the game

It searches the web for the Bears' next game: the date, the kickoff and the stadium. An away game sends it to that stadium instead.

Sun, Oct 25 · 3:25 PM kickoff · Soldier Field, Chicago
  3. Picks the airport

Every airport within 45 nm of Soldier Field is checked for the runway this aircraft needs, the drive to the stadium and FBOs you already use.

KMDW Midway · 35 min drive · 6,522 ft runway
  4. Sets the arrival

Kickoff, less the drive, less 30 minutes at the FBO to unload and find the car.

Land KMDW by 2:20 PM CDT
  5. Chooses the aircraft and the departure

The aircraft free that weekend, with flight times from its own cruise speed, worked back to a departure time in Boise's time zone.

N350SA · wheels up KBOI 8:05 AM MDT
  6. Adds the fuel stop

Boise to Midway is 1,255 nm and the King Air is planned at 1,000 nm, so it stops near halfway, at an airport with the runway and an FBO, your fuel program's first.

Fuel stop KPIR Pierre · 45 min on the ground
  7. Asks what it can't know

Nobody said when they're coming home, so GoFBO asks by text or email. The answer plans the return.

"Monday morning around 9" → home Mon, Oct 26 via KPIR
  8. Hands it to a person

A Requested trip lands on the dashboard and every scheduler is told. Add the crew, check the times, click Schedule. Nothing is scheduled by itself.

    SAW-1047 · Requested · waiting for you

How it works.

  1. Send the request the way it came

No form to fill in. Whoever takes the request passes it along in the words it arrived in, and GoFBO works from there.

    • Forward the passenger's text to your GoFBO texting number
    • Forward the email to [email protected]
    • Or paste it into AI Trip Builder on the dashboard or the Trips page
    • Owners can send their own requests for their own aircraft
Pasting "Bill and Joe want to go to the next Bears game" into AI Trip Builder
  2. GoFBO plans the whole trip

From one sentence it finds the next Bears game on the web (Sunday, 3:25 PM kickoff at Soldier Field), then plans around it like a scheduler would.

    • Airport: every field within 45 nm checked for runway length, drive time and your FBOs; Midway wins at 35 minutes
    • Arrival: kickoff, less the drive, less 30 minutes at the FBO, so wheels down by 2:20 PM
    • Departure: worked back from the aircraft's own cruise speed, in Boise time
    • Fuel stop: 1,255 nm is past the King Air's 1,000 nm range, so it stops at Pierre, near halfway
    • Every guess listed, so you check a list instead of rereading the request
The planned legs, the fuel stop, the landing time and the assumptions
  3. It asks what it can't work out

Nobody said when Bill and Joe are coming home. GoFBO asks by text or email, the same way the request came in, and plans the return from the answer: "Monday morning around 9" becomes a 9:00 AM departure from Midway with the same fuel stop.

    • Only questions a trip can't be booked without
    • Answers update the same trip, not a new one
    • Up to three rounds, then it waits for a person
The Bears trip opened in the trip editor with the return leg filled in
  4. A person schedules it

The trip waits on the dashboard as Requested, and every scheduler gets a text or email. Add the crew, check the times and click Schedule. Nothing flies, and no crew is asked, until someone does.
